My why. At one of the most critical and joyful occasions in life, no one should go through pregnancy or birth alone. Having the most informed advice and care possible while being empowered to help make decisions as they are birthing children into the gate of life.

In 2014, I had a friend who needed the extra support when having her last child, and not just the support from her partner. Unfortunately, she was able to deliver a healthy baby boy, but she never had an opportunity to meet him. Having help and an advocate can change the outcome of situations that do not have to happen.

So I am the Doula At The Gate. The gate of life. The gate of a new transition. I get the opportunity to partner with God and the family to help usher this new life into the world. The joy of knowing, through it all, the prayers that are going up as the birth mom, what her body was designed to do.
